PrivateStack is built by Data Science & Engineering Experts, Inc. (DSE), an Atlanta-based, US-owned data and security engineering firm. We started PrivateStack on a simple thesis: regulated teams shouldn't have to choose between using modern AI and keeping their data inside their own perimeter.
Founder
Ernest works at the intersection of security architecture, applied AI, and data engineering, and builds open-source security tooling in the supply-chain and AI-governance space. Before PrivateStack, DSE's consulting practice spent years deploying data platforms and governance programs for regulated and public-sector teams. The product is that practice, encoded as software.

We think trust claims should be checkable. DSE maintains open-source security tooling in public under the DataScience-EngineeringExperts GitHub organization, including conclave, an auditable, bring-your-own-keys multi-model council CLI, and mcp-warden, a supply-chain security gate for MCP servers. Ernest also writes Data Is The New Oil, a Substack publication on data engineering and applied AI.
The operator publishes its security work
The team that operates PrivateStack does AI security work in public, under its own name, including corrections. Recent published research from DSE:
- A scan of 463 public MCP configurations reporting the authentication posture found, including a published correction to the first result.
- How DSE tests against the OWASP LLM Top 10, the methodology behind its AI security assessments.
